The 18-year-old hacker hacked Uber for fun
Washington (Daily Pakistan Online) The world’s largest online taxi service, Uber, was hacked by an 18-year-old hacker for fun.
According to Daily Star, the 18-year-old hacker hacked the company’s system by getting the admin password from an Uber employee. A tweet from Uber said they are dealing with a cybersecurity incident
Screenshots allegedly leaked by Uber employees show that the hacker gained control over the company’s entire infrastructure and gained access to the company’s data via admin power, which simply means that the hacker Not only Uber drivers but also customers can see data.
Although Uber’s services are still running in more than 1,000 cities, the situation has reached such a point that the company may have to develop its system from scratch.
The hacker told the American newspaper New York Times that he hacked Uber for fun and may have leaked the source code of the company.
Sam Curry, a cyber security expert, says it’s a huge compromise, apparently a kid hacked into Uber’s system, didn’t know what to do with the data, and enjoyed the moment.
